notes: Advanced Diploma
* Employment as a teacher in most Australian states requires registration with the appropriate body (for example, the VIT in Victoria), for which a four year tertiary course, such as the Bachelor of Education, is required. The Advanced Diploma is therefore not sufficient by itself.
notes: entry to Bachelor of Education
* Advanced Standing refers to:
- Articulation pathways giving 2 years Advanced Standing into a B Ed course exist with Charles Darwin University and Deakin University
- Students who gain entry into a B Ed course at the University of Technology Sydney receive 2 years Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
The first year offers students foundation studies in Steiner Arts, Philosophy, Humanities and Sciences and an introduction to Steiner/Waldorf education. A two week school observation visit is included.
The second year applies what has been leant in the foundation studies to the development of Steiner/Waldorf curriculum, pedagogy and teaching practice. It includes 8 weeks of practice teaching in 2 X 4 week blocks.
In each course you will study a number of modules spread over a year which is divided into four terms.
Details of the relevant modules are provided on successful enrolment.
